Astragalus root (Astragalus membranaceus) has been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to promote wellness by strengthening the wei qi, the energy that circulates on the surface of the body.
Herbalists call this root an adaptogen because it helps to bring the body back into balance and to ward off effects of every-day physiological stressors.
The recipes of astragalus are numerous and ranges from astragalus tea, soups and many others.
